 Fine Dining in Casa Montana
We are a family business and as a family have travelled the world with particular roots in Italy. We bring to Casa Montana a blend of Italian and American comfort food for our High Desert getaway menu. Our ongoing commitment to organic, locally found, and chemical free, home-made food drives our menu. We support our local farmers with fresh vegetables and eggs daily and purchase hormone free meats and fresh frozen fish from local markets. We definitely love the tasty options and any calories you do not want can be burned off in the chemical free pool or on desert walks alongside the beautiful mountain ranges that flank our quaint little town of Mineral de Pozos.
When dining with Casa Montana, expect fresh local food daily, including a repertoire of tasty soups including creamy tomato basil, potato dill, clam chowder, cream of broccoli, cream of mushroom, black bean with cilantro, minestrone vegetable, carrot with ginger, and Italian wedding soup.
Our salads include choices like Ensalada Azul with Danish blue cheese, apples, and bacon, or Ensalada Italiana with salami, olives, tomato, and onion, or Chinese chicken salad with marinated chicken, peapods, rice noodles, oranges, and peanuts, cold chicken salad with almonds and cilantro, or the classic Greek cucumber salad with oregano. All salads feature different house dressings made with fresh and dried herbs and extra virgin olive oil.
Main dishes vary from designer wraps or pita sandwiches with a varieties of meats or vegetarian, spicy catfish, whole fried snapper with house mashed potatoes and gravy, home-made pasta with zuchini flowers and olive oil, spinach rice with parmesan and salmon with mustard sauce, fresh cheesy garlic baguettes with house italian marinara, hot artichoke dip with fresh pita pockets, house thin crust pizzas in a wide array of flavors including shrimp and pineapple with avocado aioli, classic pepperoni, veggie with goat cheese, and special Italian potato pizza with rosemary and garlic oil.
Our baked goods are made fresh, early in the morning, including our foccacia, baguettes, house scones in flavors including cranberry, orange, pineapple, Belgian chocolate chip or cayenne, ginger, pecan. 'Out of this world' warm cinnamon swirls for breakfast, fresh veggie frittatas, breakfast egg pizzas with jalapeno cheese, and breakfast burritos with house salsa, and black bean burritos with red pepper spread and carmelized onions, to name a few. Banana-raisin bread is a town favorite as well!
The desserts are something to talk about with your friends. Sip on organic wine and savor our flourless Belgian chocolate cake with an organic berry and Grand Marnier reduction with fresh whipped cream or drink hot organic coffee with a chilled custard and organic berry bar, twiced baked with butter, oats and organic cane sugar. The chef has spent days perfecting her Belgian chocolate chip cookies that rival the best in the world and our chocolate ice cream boasts the same credentials.
A bit on cocktails and other drink specials. Many people say we should bottle our cold-pressed Jamaica hibiscus tea infused with orange and lime and a little bit of organic sugar, and my own invention, this same tea with champagne and a squeeze of lime, a truly fabulous vacation cocktail. Of course, the Margarita, but with a Casa Montana twist of fresh ginger syrup and lime, complimented by your choice of white or gold tequila. Organic red and white house wine, organic cold-press coffee from Chiappas, and fresh vegetable drinks are also specialties of Casa Montana. We opened our dining to the public for a few months during renovation to experience rave reviews. We open our doors and our hearts to people who choose to come experience the fantastic castle in the desert and dine under the stars!
